In the context of the project directly co-financed by the European Union entitled “Roma Platform 2020 Development of the National Contact Point for the Social Integration of the Roma”, the six-month internship scheme of two young Roma, Evangelia Mama and Petros Filippidis, university graduates, has begun, aiming their professional empowerment in the General Secretariat of Social Solidarity and Fighting Poverty, as the National Roma Contact Point (NRCP).
The two (2) young Roma’s selection was made, as foreseen by the project, after the completion of the participation in the two-day training program for young Roma, held on 18 -19 March 2021 in matters related to public administration and the institutions involved in the implementation of the new National Roma Social Inclusion Strategy, 2021-2030, following an open call for expression of interest, in which 26 young Roma participated.
The action aims to strengthen the participation in the design, planning and implementation of public policies in the context of the new National Roma Inclusion Strategy and the Action Plan for the social inclusion of the Roma, 2021 -2030 and to gain familiarity with the operation of public administration.
